Leroy's Money Talks Invitational Tournament:
Pro Handicappers Dominate Elite Eight Past Champs Rynning and Bogdanovich Top Field

Picks Broadcast throughout Nevada & www.americanwagering.com

December 5, 2007

(Las Vegas, NV) The Elite Eight is set and the pro handicappers have survived the first two rounds of the Leroy's Money Talks Invitational Tournament.

Lone amateur Paul Sonner joins past champs Eric Rynning and Nick Bogdanovich, hot football handicapper Jorge Gonzales, the suave and sophisticated Adam Meyer, tie breaker Doc Moseman, former Stardust winner Marc Lawrence, and the logical Andy Iskoe in the Elite Eight.

Moseman made good on his second chance with Bill Edler (the pair ended their match the previous week with a 2-5 tie, both losing best bets) and turned in one of the tournament's best rounds with a 6-1 card.

In the regularly scheduled matches, Jorge Gonzales continued his winning ways with a 4-2-1 slate to outpoint Pat Little (3-3-1). Meyer hit four out of seven picks to take apart Sal from Maddox sports (2-5).

This week's matches pit Reno's Sonner, an amateur who has pledged his winnings to charity, versus defending champ Rynning in a 7 p.m. tilt at the Riviera. In the 2 p.m. match at downtown Fitzgerald's, Bogdanovich, the Money Talks Champ in 2005, will take on fellow handicapping heavyweight Lawrence for a spot in the final four, one step closer to the winner-take all $160,000.

"Honestly, I feel pretty lucky to have gone this far," Sonner said. "It's going to be a lot tougher for me because we are going to be picking the NFL."

Sonner, owner of the Bully's restaurants n Northern Nevada, is pledging any winnings to charity. Sonner is active in the Northern Nevada community, and the Wednesday before Thanksgiving he gave away turkey dinners to more than 2,400 at the Truckee Meadows Boys and Girls Club.

"I won't start thinking about any particular charity, unless I'm lucky enough to get through this weekend," Sonner said. "I think I will be relying on the totals bets."

Even with the mix of college and pro games, the handicappers have had a tough season as their combined record made like the stock market and slipped to 161-172-17* against the spread.

Here are the Elite Eight matches with overall records:

Nick Bogdanovich (9-4-1) vs. Marc Lawrence (7-6-1) Dec. 7 2p.m. @ The Fitz
Erin Rynning (9-4-1) vs. Paul Sonner (8-5-1) Dec. 7 7p.m. @ The Riv
Andy Iskoe (7-7) vs. Jorge Gonzalez (8-5-1) Dec. 14 2p.m. @ The Fitz
Doc Moesman (12-9)* vs. Adam Meyer (8-6) Dec. 14 7p.m. @ The Riv

*Moseman's second round match ended in a tie, forcing "overtime" against Bill Edler
